Russia threatens a “military response” after Britain gave long-range missiles to Ukraine. Ukraine expects to receive long-range missiles from other countries, but the US and other countries are not ready to provide them in case attacks inside Russia lead to escalation

Britain has been threatened with a “military response” by Russia after it announced it would send long-range missiles to Ukraine. Britain’s defense secretary said the missiles would be supplied to the Ukrainian army. The Sky News network reported that some of the missiles are already with the Ukrainian soldiers.

In response to reports that the missiles had moved to Ukraine, Russia threatened that the move would require “an adequate response from our military.” Ukraine is begging for long-range missiles, but the US and other countries are unwilling to provide them in case attacks inside Russia lead to escalation.

In a speech in the House of Representatives, Defense Minister Ben Wallace said: “The donation of these weapons systems gives Ukraine the best opportunity to defend itself against Russia’s continued brutality, especially the attacks against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which is contrary to international law.”

“Ukraine has a right to be able to defend itself against attacks.” He added that the missiles would only be used “within the sovereign territory of Ukraine”.
