Mortada Mansour said in statements during a press conference on Thursday: “I decided to leave the presidency of Zamalek, and Amir and Ahmed also will not complete their work inside the club, and you are responsible.”
He added, “Ahmed and Amir will remain working members of the club, and under Zamalek’s orders at any time, and the Ministry of Sports will receive the club from us, and we will see if you will know whether to pay the salaries of the employees or not.”
He continued, “The board of directors, despite its adherence to my continued presidency of the club, but I no longer adhere to staying in my position in light of the many crises besieging us.”

And he continued: The Minister of Sports does not have the right to freeze the council because the ruling is not final, and I am considering not appealing to the Supreme Administrative Court, regarding a decision to dismiss me because the sports climate has become corrupt.
--And he continued: “My apology for not continuing to preside over the club is a matter that concerns me only with my respect to the council, and it also has nothing to do with the fact that I will complete the complaint of the Football Association and Al-Ahly in FIFA.”

He warned, before holding the press conference, of the seriousness of the situation that Zamalek club is going through in the current period, describing it as catastrophic, saying: “The club is entering a disaster, and it may be closed after two weeks .. The club is not a means of entertainment, people must excel.”
