Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed that his players will not give up on the competition for the English Premier League title this season, despite Manchester City leading the competition table.
“We are playing to win the Premier League title, we want to be fully focused on that,” he said at the press conference. “All these other things are a distraction.”
--He added: “Every time you win, every time you play well, every time you feel you are competing at the level required to win this league, it gives you hope, it is not in our hands and on Sunday we will definitely need to be at our best again.” We are trying to win the game, if we win we will be a little bit closer.”
And about facing Brighton, Arteta said: “An integrated team, the way they play under the leadership of Roberto and the coaching staff is wonderful. The world and we need the best coaches and the best players, what he did with the team, after all the foundations that Graham Potter left at the club.
On Zinchenko and Saliba’s injuries: “I don’t know if Zinchenko will be absent until the end of the season. Saliba will miss the Brighton match and is not expected to return for the Nottingham match.”
