The players of the Chilean “Deportivo Palestino” team appeared in the Palestinian keffiyeh while they were taking to the field in one of the local league matches.
Palestino shared – through his official account on Twitter – a video clip of the players wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh, in solidarity with the Palestinians in the face of the recent Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.
This is not the time that the team expresses its solidarity with the Palestinians, as it has shown its support for them on many occasions.

Founding of the club
The Palestino Club was founded on August 20, 1920 by a group of Palestinian immigrants in the southern city of Osorno, and took its name from Palestine, as it means in Spanish the “Palestinian Sports Club.”
The aim of establishing the club at that time was to bring together the Arab and Palestinian communities, which represent a large population in Chile, and are among the largest Palestinian communities abroad.

After about 30 years of its founding, the team entered to compete in the second division to win it and ensure its rise to the Premier Division.

Supportive positions for the Palestinians
The Chilean club always supports the Palestinian cause, and makes its defense a top priority.
In October 2021, Palestino Club announced the opening of its new football training academy for children in the Gaza Strip, to be its second branch in Palestine after its academy in Ramallah.
