The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation said that the engineers of the Central Department for Pest Control at the level of regions and public administrations follow up the late cultivation of wheat until all fields are harvested, in addition to urging farmers to supply wheat to the responsible authorities, in order to provide the Egyptian citizen with a loaf of bread.
The Ministry of Agriculture also confirmed, in a statement, a little while ago, that the administration is following up seriously the cultivation of maize, which is one of the most important summer strategic crops, beginning with its cultivation, which began early in some governorates, with the month of March, such as the Sohag governorate, the center of Akhmim, which reached the stage of expelling the inflorescences. Now, following up maize cultivation in the rest of the governorates to track any appearance of Fall Armyworm and treat it, according to the directives of the Minister of Agriculture.

She added that fall armyworm pesticides have been allocated, and the state pays special attention to cotton cultivation, which is one of the important industrial crops, which is infected with many pests, even harvesting, so the administration worked on the presence of its engineers from the beginning of agriculture and follows the governorates’ planting dates to be present next to the farmer.
She explained that the first cultivations were in Fayoum Governorate, and cultivations continued in the rest of the governorates, as the ministry provided various cotton pesticides within the national plan to combat cotton pests to combat cotton pests.
