Tourism activity in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region during the first quarter of this year 2023 achieved a remarkable increase in the number of commercial registrations by 5.7%, compared to the previous quarter of the same year, and an increase of 13.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the economic report issued by the Chamber of Commerce in Madinah at the end of the first quarter of this year 2023, the total number of commercial records in tourism activity is 1,354 commercial records, compared to the last quarter of last year 2022, which amounted to 1,189 commercial records.
Tourism recorded positive growth in the fourth position among the top six activities in the region, which represents about 2.8% of the total number of active records in the main center of the Chamber.
-According to the database of members of the Chamber of Commerce, the total number of active commercial registrations reached 52,830 commercial registrations at the end of the first quarter of 2023, a decrease of 0.9% compared to the previous quarter of the same year, and an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period in 2022.
It is noteworthy that Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah represents an important area for attracting tourists, due to its religious status, which is visited by visitors and pilgrims from all over the world. Its most prominent goals are to increase the capacity to receive pilgrims from 8 million to 30 million pilgrims by the end of 2030, which opens up broad prospects for attracting qualitative investments in the tourism sector in the region.
