The prices of building materials declined very slightly today, Friday, corresponding to May 12, to accompany the insane rise in the prices of building materials locally, despite the global decline in the price of iron.
Because of the sudden rises announced by iron-manufacturing companies in Egypt from time to time, amid the absence of market supervision, the price per ton for the consumer currently reaches 49 thousand pounds.
This came according to the statements of Ahmed Al-Zaini, Head of the Building Materials Division, who explained the main reasons for the continued high prices of building materials in the local markets despite their global decline.
Al-Zaini monitored, through televised statements, these reasons in several points as follows:
– The lack of competition in the market.
Imposing dumping duties on imported iron and not allowing merchants and importers to import.
Lack of control over the markets.
Chaos in pricing or supply that dominates the market.

Today, Friday, the price of investment iron in Egypt recorded about 40,944.44 pounds per ton.
On the other hand, the price of a ton of investment iron was about 40,954.17 pounds yesterday.
– Today, Friday, the price of Ezz El Dekheila Steel Company recorded 41,728.57 pounds per ton.
On the other hand, the price of a ton of Ezz iron yesterday was about 41866.67 pounds.
Today, Friday, the price of gray cement in Egypt reached about 2068.4 pounds per ton.
On the other hand, the price of a ton of cement yesterday reached 2075.16 pounds.
