The Togolese striker, Lapa Kodjo, won the title of top scorer in the UAE League for the 2022/2023 season, after a fierce struggle for the golden boot, with Ali Mabkhout, the star of the Al-Jazira team.
Despite the fierce struggle that the top scorer title witnessed throughout the season in the UAE League, especially between Mabkhout and Kodjo, the last round was revealing after this conflict was resolved.
Kodjo achieved the title after scoring a brace in Al Ain’s victory over Al Bataeh, 2-5, at Hazaa Bin Zayed Stadium yesterday evening, Friday, on the second day of the 26th and final round of the ADNOC Professional League.
The Togolese player won the title of top scorer in the UAE league by reaching 28 goals, ahead of the UAE football star, Ali Mabkhout, by a single goal.
Al Ain finished its season in the ADNOC Professional League in the runner-up position behind Shabab Al-Ahly, the champion, while Al-Jazira finished the standings in fifth place with 46 points.
