Coordination took place with the security services, in the Eastern Security Directorate, and the General Security, and after taking legal measures, and the permission of the Public Prosecution, they were caught in an elaborate ambush prepared for them near the Youth Bridge, in the area of Abu Hammad Center, while they were riding in a private car, and when they were searched, they were found in possession of 150 cannabis. It weighs about 15 kilograms, a sum of money, and a mobile phone.
The investigations revealed that they possessed the seized narcotic substances with the intent of trading in them, and the phone they used to contact their clients and conclude deals, and the amount of money was part of the proceeds of trafficking.
It is noteworthy that Article 33 of the Penal Code punishes anyone who engages in drug trafficking with life imprisonment, starting from rigorous imprisonment of 3 years, to life imprisonment or death in some cases, and a fine of up to 100,000 Egyptian pounds, and it does not exceed 500. The penalty for drug trafficking is reduced to be imprisoned for one year and imprisonment does not reach a period of 5 years, and a fine of not less than 200 Egyptian pounds and not up to 5 thousand Egyptian pounds must be paid, and all this in the event that the seized narcotic substances are weakly anesthetized, and A natural narcotic, and this is due to the forensic laboratory and a report on the narcotic substances that were seized in the possession of the accused who were caught in flagrante delicto. As for drug use, Article No. 39 of the Penal Code stipulates that the penalty for drug abuser is determined, he is punished with imprisonment for one year, and he is required to double the fine A financial amount of one thousand Egyptian pounds, and not exceeding three thousand Egyptian pounds, if he was arrested in a designated place or was prepared to take narcotic substances, and he used narcotic substances with full knowledge of that, and the penalty is doubled to reach two years if the narcotic substances are heroin and cocaine.
