Kuwaiti engineer Janan Al-Shehab won the gold medal at the Malaysian International Exhibition of Inventions and Technological Innovations (IITEX) for her invention of “Electromagnetic Cells – Wireless Power Transmission System”.
Al-Shehab said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today, Friday, that she feels proud after achieving this scientific achievement in the name of the State of Kuwait, adding that she was the only inventor who represented Kuwait, unlike other participating countries, especially from the Gulf countries.
She directed this achievement to His Highness the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressing her thanks and appreciation to the Patent Office in the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
She also expressed her thanks to Kuwait Finance House for the strategic partnership and the Agility Company for sponsoring it in this international participation. She also thanked the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Malaysia, Rashid Al-Saleh, for his support during the exhibition.
She explained that her joy in winning the gold medal was reinforced by her nomination from among thousands of Gulf applicants to the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council to choose one inventor and researcher from each Gulf country in the “ITEX” exhibition.
--She pointed out that this innovation benefits humanity in charging and operating electronic devices remotely without using any electrical connections, adding that it reduces electrical currents and adds an aesthetic view to several private and public places.
This victory is added to the tally of Engineer Al-Shehab, who won seven gold medals in previous international exhibitions, in addition to obtaining the “Officer” medal from the European Union and the International Commission for Officers and Supervisors of “Science and Innovation” for her invention of electromagnetic cells.
It is noteworthy that the State of Kuwait participated in the Malaysian “ITEX” exhibition, which was held over two days yesterday, Thursday and Friday, as part of the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, where the inventors from the citizens of the GCC countries are chosen by a specialized team of arbitrators in the patent office to be hosted by General Secretariat to participate in this international exhibition.
Organized by the Malaysian Invention Society since 1989, the exhibition is an international platform for inventors, investors, researchers and scientists to promote inventions, innovations, technologies, trade exchange and expertise in science and knowledge.
