Al-Marsad Newspaper: A consultant dermatologist, cosmetologist and laser doctor, Heba Al-Ajeel, revealed the damage caused by hair dyes.
“Dyes contain approximately 50 to 80 chemical compounds, but there are compounds that are the basis, such as ammonia, formaldehyde, and hydrogen peroxide,” said a consultant dermatologist, in her interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV program 120.
She added, “The damage varies according to the type of compound, and most dyes contain ammonia, because its presence in the dye plays a key role in making it last for a longer period.”
-And she continued that ammonia is one of the alkaline compounds, which harm the hair and have many side effects on human health, as it works to inflate the hair.
-She indicated that ammonia has harmful effects on the skin, the first being the ppd compound present in the dye, because it may cause “sensitivity, tingling, itching, redness, and a rash on the skin, which may extend to the eyelids and be accompanied by swelling in the eye.”
And she concluded her speech that ammonia also has damage to the hair, as it damages the hair, breaks it, and causes tangles.
