The visit of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the city of Kandahar in Afghanistan, and his meeting with Mr. Mohammed Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the caretaker government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, reflects the strong commitment of the State of Qatar to stand by the Afghan people and continue Its endeavors to achieve security, stability, prosperity and a decent life in Afghanistan.

The current visit of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to Afghanistan is of great importance, as it comes after the State of Qatar hosted the closed meeting of the Special Envoys for Afghanistan, which was chaired by HE Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres during the period from 1-2 May. Promoting stability and multilateral action in Afghanistan, and the challenges facing humanitarian action and impeding the delivery of aid to the Afghan people.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani affirmed, during his meeting with the caretaker head of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the State of Qatar’s unwavering support for all segments of the brotherly Afghan people, as His Excellency reviewed with the Afghan official ways to support Afghanistan to mitigate the effects of its current crises, especially On the humanitarian and economic levels.

Based on Qatar’s commitment to improving livelihoods in developing countries affected by disasters and conflicts around the world, and as a continuation of its continuous efforts to provide humanitarian support to the Afghan people, the Qatar Fund for Development signed an agreement three days ago with the World Health Organization with the aim of providing basic and fair health services in serviced areas. Ltd., in 11 provinces of Afghanistan, which would enable more than one million patients to have access to high-quality primary health care.

The State of Qatar, which stands at the forefront of countries supporting the Afghan people globally, spares no effort to achieve the aspirations of the Afghan people for a decent life, progress and prosperity, and to preserve the rights of minorities, especially women.
