David Moyes, coach of West Ham United, admitted that it would be difficult for captain Declan Rice to continue next season, given that the player had rejected several offers to stay, in addition to receiving offers from senior Premier League players.
Moyes said, in statements reported by the British newspaper “The Sun”, on Friday, that during the past months, the administration made offers to stay Declan Rice, but the player refused the extension, preferring to leave for another club next summer.
Declan Rice’s contract – 24 years – is scheduled to expire in the summer of 2024, but West Ham has the right to renew its captain for another season, according to what was reported by the newspaper “The Sun”.
Moyes added that he wants Declan Rice to continue, as there is a desire from the management to do so, but we also plan in the event of the player’s departure, especially as he is close to leaving the team next summer.
And “The Sun” indicates that the average field of the England national team has entered the interests of more than one English club in the recent period, most notably: Arsenal – Chelsea – Manchester City – Manchester United.
According to British press reports, Arsenal’s coach, Michael Arteta, placed Declan Rice at the top of the “January” transfer list in the summer, and the management also entered into negotiations with the player’s father, who is his agent, to settle the agreement.
--Declan Rice played in the ranks of the youth team at Chelsea FC before moving to West Ham in 2013, before the player was promoted to the first team in 2017.
Declan Rice has participated in 240 matches with West Ham, scoring 14 goals and making 13 assists. At the international level, he played 41 matches with the “Three Lions” team, during which he scored three goals.
