May 13, 2023Mikel Arteta, the English coach of Arsenal, did not agree with the media sources that confirmed the end of the season of his stars, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Saliba has been absent since last March, as he was injured at the level of the back in the summit of the round of 16 of the European League between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon, Portugal.
As for Zinchenko, he left the field due to his injury at the summit of the 35th round of the English Premier League, which brought his team together in Newcastle.
Arteta was asked if Zinchenko had already played his last matches for Arsenal in the current 2022-2023 season, to answer firmly, “No.”
The Spanish coach said, “We have a training session left before facing Brighton Albion (in the 36th round), and we will try to recover the injured players before that day.”
--The 41-year-old mentioned Saliba’s injury.
And Arteta admitted, in statements reported by the sports website, “Sport Star”, “He will certainly not be ready for this match (against Brighton Albion).”
And he continued, who represented Arsenal as a player between 2011 and 2016, “We also doubt his ability to be ready for the next match as well (against Nottingham Forest).”
“But we want to maintain our sense of hope, and ensure we give ourselves the best possible chance of recovering these injured people,” Arteta explained.
