Ahi Nazareth was relegated last night (Friday) to League A for the first time in 17 years, when it played in the national league which was the third best league in Israel. Chairman Maher Hamed announced at the end of the match against MS Kfar Kasem that he is resigning from the club after 12 years in the position.
The team is in financial difficulties, throughout the year the players complained to the players’ organization that there was a delay in salary and the team was even convicted on the issue and four points were deducted from their balance, but they were returned with a promise that the salaries would be paid in full. Now the players fear that due to the drop in the league, they will not receive their full salary.
The future of this club that played in the Premier League and represents the largest city in Arab society is unclear. For everyone there is one savior. “Only Monas Davor can save us. If he takes over the club he grew up in and his family is so attached to, Brother Nazareth will have a bright future. With him it will be easy to attract businessmen and sponsors,” said a source close to the group.
Throughout the year there were attempts to convince him to take the team, but in the end the Hoffenheim striker did not do so. The club believes that Monas, together with his brother Anas, who is considered a symbol of the Nazareth brothers, can return the club to its natural place.
Most of the players do not have a contract for next season, the staff is expected to go through a deep plowing. If Davor arrives, they will build a candidate squad for Aliya, if not based on the youth team that finished in third place in the National Youth League North.
