Despite all that Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, has to offer in terms of goals, assists, speed and skill, there is one aspect of the Egypt international that is underappreciated, according to a British press report.
The British newspaper, The Athletic, highlighted that Mohamed Salah possesses a secret skill with Liverpool that makes him truly special, noting that if there was a detailed list of everything Salah offers with the Reds, it would be very long.-
His goals, records, passing, pace and dexterity, injury prevention, left and right foot skills and how the ball feels so glued to his foot that defenders across Europe have found him impossible to deal with since his move to Anfield in the summer of 2017.-
But “The Athletic” believes that there is one aspect of Salah that is not appreciated enough, and that is his work rate, as working hard when the team loses possession is vital in the Reds, along with Jurgen Klopp’s obsession with pressing opponents, and above all the goals of the Egyptian star and his general brilliance. Salah adhered to Klopp’s system of pressing opponents.
The newspaper explained that when Liverpool loses the ball near Salah, the Egyptian international rarely remains static. The amount of tackles and interceptions he makes against the opponent in the offensive half speaks for itself, and when he loses possession himself, he chases the ball or puts himself in a position that is beneficial to the team.
The newspaper concluded its report by pointing out that Salah recovered the ball this season at a rate of 2.6 per match, and although this number decreased slightly from the 2.8 and 2.7 he recorded in the past two seasons, it remains an integral part of his game.
