
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit held a joint press conference following the Arab summit held today (Friday) in Jeddah.
The foreign minister called on the conflicting Sudanese parties to show responsibility and resort to dialogue, noting that the Kingdom is working with Washington to reach a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
Bin Farhan affirmed that the Kingdom adopts modern economic thought to achieve Arab food security, and it also put forward an initiative to secure food supply chains for Arab countries, noting that the Jeddah Declaration emphasized the strengthening of joint Arab action.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abu Al-Ghaith, said: The Jeddah summit achieved its desired goal, indicating that Syria needs the help of the Arabs and to be isolated from the vision of external powers.
