“They prepared blessings and a cake for her, and were informed that she had been murdered” – a horrific murder in the Shepela: Moshe Perry (51) is the suspect in the murder of his ex-wife (55) in Rishon Lezion, who was found this morning (Friday) lifeless in her apartment on Ramez Street. Initially, her condition was defined as critical and later MDA forces had to determine her death. Perry was found at the scene drunk, and was taken in for questioning on the suspicion of stabbing her to death. Later, the Magistrate’s Court in Petah Tikva extended his detention.
The police representative said at the hearing that the scene was “bloody and violent”, and that the suspect partially confessed to the acts but claimed self-defense. The suspect’s defense attorney, attorney Dimitri Berlstein, said at the hearing: “The suspect claims he came to her house, she opened the door for him and then for some unknown reason yelled at him, took a knife out of a drawer in the kitchen, tried to hurt him and as an act of self-defense he took the nearest thing to defend He didn’t know he didn’t survive. He thought she was injured, he saw her go up the stairs on her own.”
The suspect added: “I asked them to call an ambulance for her.” The investigation of the incident reveals that the divorced man arrived at the woman’s house, who celebrated her birthday today. No signs of a break-in were found in the apartment, so the investigators believe that she allowed him to enter. Another matter that came up in the discussion is the fact that the suspect has a criminal record for drug offenses. The police intend to perform a toxological test on the suspect at the hospital during the day.
The police charge Perry with the crime of premeditated murder. In the decision to extend his detention, Judge Adanko Sabahat Chaimovitz wrote that “there is reasonable suspicion against the suspect for committing the offense attributed to him, including his initial version that ties him to the incident.”
“Why did you kill my mother?”
In the morning, an assessment of the situation at the scene of the murder was completed, led by the National Criminal Investigation Department, Yair Hezroni, at the end of which the investigation was assigned to the Special Crime Fighting Unit (ILF) in the Shepela region. The Rishon Lezion Police noted that the woman filed a complaint for the last time in 2021, about An incident of violence by the divorced man towards her two years earlier, but she finally returned it, refused to cooperate with the police and it was closed after the prosecutor’s office reviewed it.
The couple have three grown children in their twenties and thirties. Evidence from the scene indicates that the divorced man was arrested when he was drunk and the police, who were called by the son of the former couple, had to take control of him during his arrest. One of the boys was in the apartment when the murder happened.

More from Israel today
Rivka Neuman, director of the Division for the Advancement of the Status of Women at WICHO, responded to the horrific murder incident: “When the guns are roaring in Israel, the murderers do not remain silent, the State of Israel is capable of developing combat, developing protective measures to maintain the safety of its residents, but unfortunately not for the safety of women and children who are beaten and murdered in their homes. Another woman was murdered because the State of Israel does not develop a magic wand or iron dome for her to save her life. In the meantime, we will continue to count the number of murdered women.”
