The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Walid Nassar, signed a tripartite agreement for joint cooperation between Lebanon, Greece and Cyprus, in the Greek capital, Athens, with both the Greek Minister of Tourism, Vassilis Kikilias, and the Cypriot Minister of State for Tourism, Costas Kumis, in order to enhance tourism cooperation and exchange experiences in all fields, accompanied by the Chargé d’Affairs in The Lebanese Embassy, Ambassador Ghadi El-Khoury.
He pointed out that “the most important thing mentioned in this agreement in the interest of Lebanon is in the similarity of tourism between the three countries (Cyprus, Greece and Lebanon) based on tourism exchange between countries located on the Mediterranean coast, which allows intertwining and communication between the tourism sectors and the existing syndicates, Whether it is in Cyprus or Greece.”
In this context, and for the success of the provisions of the agreement, an executive committee will be formed to follow up the implementation of the agreement towards sustainable tourism, not only with the three countries, but also with the European and international markets.
Nassar confirmed that a meeting will soon bring together ministers in Lebanon to support this agreement and put it into effect.
