The Emirates Badminton Federation celebrated the organizational success achieved by the Asian Championship, which was hosted by Dubai from 25 to 30 last April at Rashid bin Hamdan Hall in Al Nasr Club, under the generous patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Honorary President of the Emirates Badminton Federation, More than 300 male and female players from 28 countries participated in it.

This came during a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors headed by Noura Al Jasmi the day before yesterday, and the work teams of the Organizing Committee for the tournament were honored for their efforts that contributed to the success of this event, which was held for the first time in the UAE. Maryam Al Balushi, Aisha Shaheen, Mashael Al Balushi, Mai Mansour and Aya Muhammad.

Al Jassmi confirmed that all Asian delegations praised the organization and the large public attendance that followed the various competitions throughout the days of the tournament, and said: This success was achieved thanks to the concerted efforts of all parties and work teams from the organizing committees, referees, volunteers, and the high technical levels that the tournament demonstrated.

Al Jasmi explained that honoring the referees comes within the federation’s plan to develop Emirati arbitration and bring it to international levels, as the referees will be given the opportunity to participate in training courses and obtain international certificates.

On the other hand, the members of the Board of Directors congratulated Al Jasmi on winning the position of Vice President of the Asian Badminton Federation during the General Assembly meeting that was held in Dubai on the sidelines of the Asian Championship.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Board of Directors was keen to thank the General Sports Authority, the Dubai Sports Council, Al Nasr Sports Games Company, the French School, and the Sheikh Mana Bin Hasher Al Maktoum Medical Complex for their support for the championship. The Board of Directors also thanked the sponsoring companies.

During the meeting, the preparations of our national team to participate in the Arab Games No. 15 to be hosted by Algeria during next July were discussed. The Board of Directors agreed to set up a preparatory camp for the national team from June 25 to July 3 in Dubai, where the technical committee decided to select the best 8 players for the national team. By testing from a preliminary list of 15 players.

The Board of Directors also approved the request of the Abu Dhabi Tennis Club to join the federation, calling on the rest of the clubs to embrace the game and invest in it as an Olympic sport and attractive to the various communities residing in the country.
