Yesterday, an Emirati aid ship carrying 1,000 tons of supplies and foodstuffs arrived at Port Sudan, with the aim of providing urgent support to Sudanese refugees affected by the current conditions in Sudan, which caused the displacement of thousands of families, and a shortage of basic foodstuffs.
Sending the ship comes within the framework of the continuous relief efforts of the UAE in supporting the brotherly Sudanese people and an embodiment of its humanitarian vision, as the UAE is one of the first countries to initiate direct aid to Sudan, which has been witnessing clashes since mid-April, as part of its continuous keenness to provide support to the brothers and contribute In alleviating the humanitarian repercussions facing the Sudanese as a result of the current crisis.
The UAE has provided more than 540 tons of food supplies, aid and emergency medical supplies via 14 aircraft, bringing the total aid provided to 1,540 tons.
It is worth noting that the UAE has sent nine planes during the past period to evacuate 997 people, nationals of a number of countries, as part of its humanitarian efforts and commitment to strengthening global cooperation and solidarity, and in continuation of its humanitarian approach based on providing protection for civilians, and extending a helping hand to countries in times of need.
-The UAE also continues to provide all hosting services for nationals of about 26 different nationalities who were evacuated via these planes throughout their stay in the UAE until their return to their countries.
