His Excellency Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, received a copy of a doctoral dissertation entitled “The UAE’s Approach to Confronting Terrorism”, submitted by First Lieutenant Aref Musleh Fadel, from the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Investigations at Dubai Police.
His Excellency thanked Dr. Aref Fadel, during his reception in his office, for this valuable gift, praising the topic and importance of his dissertation, and wishing him success. The thesis touched on the efforts made by the UAE in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism, by addressing two main dimensions, which are the legal dimension represented by the legislation and laws enacted by the state in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism, and extremist organizations and their sources of funding.
The researcher touched on the security dimension, which is represented in preventive measures and measures to protect society, in addition to shedding light on the measures taken by the state in its confrontation with terrorism at the external level.
-The thesis came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to crystallize a clear and specific definition of terrorism that is the focus of consensus and agreement by the international community, and to activate the role of the various media, especially the security ones, in the process of community awareness of the dangers of terrorism.
