Surprise.. The fatwa: Because of the high cost, it is permissible for more than two people to participate in the competition

Due to the high prices of livestock and cows, Sheikh Awaida Othman, Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa, surprised by confirming that it is legally permissible for more than two people to participate in the slaughter of the sacrificial sheep, saying: “It was not useful before that, but this year is useful.”

Othman said that it is permissible for more than two individuals to participate in the sacrifice if it is a sheep, pointing out that the price of the lamb this year has reached a large amount, as some of those who sacrificed past years will not be able to this year, and therefore they can participate in the sacrifice and there is no objection to this.

And the Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa continued, during the episode of the program “Fatwas of People”, broadcast on Al-Nas TV, Thursday: “Last year, one could buy a sheep whose price was 3000 pounds, but this year it is difficult, it is normal to buy with two others, there is no problem, no. Deprive yourselves of the sacrifice, and two people may participate in seven calfs, and their intention, O Lord, is not able to do more than that. Accept our sacrifice.

Dr. Magdy Ashour, the scientific advisor to the Grand Mufti, confirmed that the sacrifice is Sunnah for the Mufti, and it is for those who are able to do it, and it is not permissible to participate in sheep and goats; Because one of them is only valid for one sacrifice, and it is permissible to participate in the sacrifice if the sacrifice is camels, cows, or buffaloes, and that is sufficient for seven individuals and their dependents.
