The national Muay Thai team won six colored medals (two golds, one silver and three bronzes) at the World Championships, which was held in Thailand from May 5 to 13, with the participation of more than 700 athletes representing 102 countries.

Zainab Bouhamada won the 57-kilogram gold medal, by defeating the Portuguese Matilda Rodriguez in the final, and Mohamed Mardi won the 67-kilogram gold medal by defeating the Russian Sergey Solviev in the final match.

The player Ibrahim Bilal also won a silver of 63.5 kilograms against the Russian Maxim Mysnikov, in addition to three bronze medals won by the player Muhammad Al-Tuwaizi in the weight of 51 kilograms, and the player Salama Al-Junaibi in the weight of 75 kilograms and the “Wye Crew” competitions.

Tariq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Emirates Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, Executive Director of the Asian Federation, Secretary-General of the Arab Muay Thai Federation, crowned the UAE champion, Mohammed Mardi, with the 67 kilogram gold medal, praising the distinguished efforts made by the UAE mission, with the honorable participation in the tournament.
