A person may sometimes be exposed to an accident due to a wound or scratch from an animal infected with rabies, and the Alexandria Health Directorate announced several steps for correct medical treatment regarding this accident, which are:
1.Wash the wounds with soap and water for 15 minutes
2. Go to the nearest hospital or health unit to receive the necessary first aid
3. Go directly to one of the following hospitals to receive the full dose of serum
The Health Directorate in Alexandria identified hospitals that provide vaccines and serums for “snake bites, scorpion bites, dog bites, and tetanus,” and they have a free 24-hour service, which are:
1. Abu Qir General Hospital
2. East City Hospital
3. Fever Hospital
-4. Al-Jumhuriya Hospital
-5. Ras Al Teen Hospital
6. Al-Amriya Hospital
7 . University Hospital (there is a serum for scorpion and snake only and botulism)
8. Burj Al Arab Hospital
9. Al-Agamy Hospital
10. Gamal Abdel Nasser Hospital
11. Sporting Students Hospital
12. Abu Qir Toson Hospital
