
DUBAI, 12th May, 2020 (WAM) — The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Society of Fire Engineers, on the sidelines of the International Fire and Rescue Leaders Conference, which was organized by the Society in cooperation with the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense and the International Fire Safety Magazine, which was hosted by Dubai.
The memorandum aims to enhance and improve the sciences and procedures of firefighting, fire prevention, fire engineering, operations and related measures, develop professional standards and regulations in the fields of fire safety, raise the efficiency of field staff, develop and improve work procedures, enhance excellence and sustainability of performance, and exchange knowledge and experiences related to the field of work of both parties. And for creativity and innovation in the field and administrative fields and employing the capabilities of both parties to achieve quality of life with the highest standards of public safety.
The memorandum was signed by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai, His Excellency Brigadier General Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Assistant Director General for Fire and Rescue Affairs, and on behalf of the Society of Fire Engineers, Steve Hamm, CEO of the International Society of Fire Engineers.
It is noteworthy that the Society of Fire Engineers includes in its membership more than 10 thousand members of specialists and experts in the field of fire and safety from all over the world, and its regional branch is located in the Gulf region and the Middle East in the Emirate of Dubai.
