“Minds Take Shape” is the slogan of the 14th session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, which expresses its vision to provide books that contribute to the development of children’s minds, and provide them with knowledge, culture and values.
The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival takes young people and their families on a journey to a different world that gives more opportunities to acquire new books, and to meet the most prominent makers of children’s literature, including writers, publishers, illustrators and specialists, and provides them with a platform for communication, cooperation and exchange of experiences, in order for the book to be the first friend. And the faithful guide for the child, through which he travels to different worlds, and gets to know various personalities.
During these reports, many pictures were taken of a large number of children who integrate into the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, in addition to their attraction to distinguished books and drawings, in addition to spending recreational time in the corridors of the festival.
The Sharjah Children’s Festival takes children, adolescents and their families on a 12-day journey into a wide world of opportunities that allow them to learn, participate in creative and reading activities, enjoy entertainment shows, and attend programs that combine dialogues and discussions aimed at refining children’s talents and shaping their aspirations for the future.
The festival opens its doors to visitors of various categories from four in the afternoon until 8 in the evening, and the rest of the days from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening, with the exception of Friday from 4 in the evening until 9 in the evening, while the reception of the festival extends to the public on Saturday and Sunday until 9 in the evening. .--
In order to achieve its mission to enrich the imagination of children, the festival receives its visitors in this session with 1,732 events whose contents are commensurate with its position as the largest festival for children’s books and the largest event in the region that provides young people and their families with what enhances their reading culture, and opens up for those working in children’s literature the horizons of developing creative content and promoting children’s books in the Arab world and internationally. .
The festival attracted 457 guests from 66 countries, including senior writers, writers, artists, publishers, painters and celebrities who address the public through several specialized platforms, whose activities meet the interests of visitors to the festival, which is close to completing a decade and a half since its inception, embodying one of the features of the civilized project of the Emirate of Sharjah in the interest in the development of Awareness and consolidation of care for children’s literature, as part of the emirate’s comprehensive support for the book industry and strengthening the role of libraries locally and globally.
